1. Club History

Morley Youth FC was formed from Morley Youth originally run and managed by the Hazels, formed originally as The Morley Minis in August 2006 with just 3 brothers of the Morley Youth U13’s team who wanted to be like their older brothers and play football.

The Club was already well organised and being run by the Hazel’s and up to the Standard of a Charter Standard Club.

By 2009 we had over 80 boys and girls from school Year Reception to Year 4 and a workforce of skilled coaches and managers. If you liked football and wanted to have fun, then Morley Youth was the place to come to no matter what ability. Through organised training both fun and learning to play football was our goal and a smile, we had achieved our aim.

Training was initially carried out on a Saturday morning working on drills and skills culminating in a match designed to compliments Key stage 1 & 2 of the school’s curriculum.

Now we train on nearly every day of the week and play matches on both Saturday and Sunday which helps everyone associated to the Club.

By 2013, Mrs Alice Goodrum our Welfare Officer at the time started to work towards getting the Club Charter Standard approved. It took almost 6 months working through all the requirements ensuring everything was in place then she proudly presented the Club with the Charter Standard which we hold to date.

Training and home matches were initially carried out at “Morley Village Hall” grounds but as time progressed, we had to expand to Deopham Green then Shropham Village Hall as well as Attleborough College.

Winter training was always an issue due to the lack of flood light areas in the area now we use Kett’s Park which is a first-class facility in Wymondham just on the doorstep.
