Morley under 12s players and parents started off the weekend with a fun night out at Retro Replay in Norwich. Parents reigned supreme in the old skool arcade, while the kids of course won on the PS5 and Xbox games. Good fun place for anyone who lost hours in arcades as a kid or likes video games (who doesn’t?!).
Sunday was the teams first game of 2025, with the long trip to Sheringham. After a few phone calls on the way and a last minute pitch inspection the game escaped the weather.
The first half was really close, with some great defending to keep it at 0-0. Sheringham then scored a cracking first goal at the start of the second half and against the run of play managed to grab a second. Sheringham’s goalkeeper made some impressive saves and kept out everything Morley players threw at him until the last few minutes when Morley scored a well-deserved goal, ending the game at 2-1 to Sheringham.
It was a great team performance by Morley in a game that could have easily ended in a win. The coaches, parents and players were rightly proud of a really good team performance.
